Our Story

Started in 2007 by a family of Irish immigrants, Giga-Bites Cafe had its origin as an internet cafe in Marietta Georgia. David and Tanya Finn wanted to create a hybrid of computer rentals and full service cafe. They wanted a place where their guests could relax, eat and enjoy a welcoming environment.

Lan parties were a big draw for early Giga-Bites Cafe. As time passed the guests started voicing interest in a variety of tabletop games. David took a risk and brought in Warhammer 40,000 products to the store. It was a huge success. Then, over a period of time as more people came to Giga-Bites to play tabletop games, the computers slowly started to phase out of the store. By 2012 there was only a single computer for guests to use as a “list builder” for the many miniature games being played daily at Giga-Bites.

At the start of 2013 Giga-Bites had outgrown its second location and needed much more space for the ever growing community of tabletop gamers. Giga moved to its current location just inside the 120 loop on Roswell Road. The new store allowed more items, more players, and a greater variety of foods. The Finns took the growth at the new location and were able to invest it in an American branch of David’s brother’s distribution company Bridge Media in 2017. This new partnership allowed Giga-Bites to expand its staff and widen the variety of products available to our guests.

Nowadays Giga-bites Tabletop Cafe stands as a pillar of the gaming community here in the Greater Atlanta area. It stands committed to providing a safe place for anyone to come in and enjoy a board game, meet up, special event, good meal or just one of the best lattes you can get. So if you’re looking for a local shop that provides board games, card games, miniatures, paints, hobby supplies, food or just a place to spend time with friends, then we hope you join us at Giga-Bites Cafe.
